Valerie Labi is a an accomplished serial impact entrepreneur dedicated to leveraging social enterprises and manufacturing as approaches to advance the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As the co-founder of Wahu Mobility, Africa's pioneering electric vehicle manufacturing zone launched in Accra in February 2023, Valerie is at the forefront of creating an ecosystem for e-mobility solutions on the continent.  Leading with innovation and a clear purpose, Valerie's vision for Wahu has led to the creation of a space where connected electric vehicles can be designed, localized, manufactured at scale, and affordably distributed across Africa.

 

The company's fleet-as-a-service digital platform provides a holistic experience for EV owners, offering subscription-based ownership plans, income-generating opportunities, carbon-backed loyalty programs, and customized EV insurance. Notably, Valerie has already gone to market with Wahu’s signature eBike and is preparing to unveil the first electric car designed and made in Ghana this June, marking a significant milestone in the sustainable transportation revolution on the continent.

Valerie's academic background includes a BSc in Economics from Southampton University and a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge. Her career journey has been marked by diverse experiences and leadership roles in multinational corporations such as Vodafone and EY, in addition to her role as a serial founder of impactful ventures.

Valerie is an Harambean, whose remarkable contributions to sustainable business practices have also earned her prestigious accolades, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders bestowed by President Obama in 2014, the Global Engineering Outstanding Professional Award 2020 by the University of Boulder, and being recognized as a Finalist at the Alibaba Fund Jumpstarter of the Global Pitch Competition in Hong Kong in 2023.
